Hello, Xin chào,
I'm Phong Nguyen

Originally from Hanoi, Vietnam, Phong discovered his love for film as a child actor and performer. As he grew more aware of the lack of Asian representation on screen, he shifted his focus to behind the camera to tell the stories he longed to see. His work centers on underrepresented voices and small moments of everyday life. He most recently directed the festival-selected horror short Do or Die (2025) and is currently producing the LGBTQ drama After Midnight (2026). Phong gained professional experience in Asian film distribution at EST N8, working with titles such as Dear Stranger starring Nishijima Hidetoshi and the Indonesian box-office hit Pabrik Gula, and contributed to branded video projects for clients including J.P. Morgan and Times Higher Education.
Now a Film student at the University of Rochester, Phong continues to develop his craft and advocate for stories that deserve to be seen and heard.
